- I love black and white photography, anything old and rich in history.I'm intrigued by the small details found in a black and white picture. I'm not against colour-I'm distracted by colour, bright colour. what do you notice first in this photo? i want to wander down the street with my eyes but find i keep glancing right.
I always thought i dreamed in colour until i heard less people dream in colour than black and white. when i really think about it again my dreams are actually black and white and whatever is going on, goes on at night. surrounded by black and white and shades 6B- 4H of pencil my dreams are focused and direct- there's not distraction.-

- Isn't it just the sweetest, i would love to live there :) I'm so drawn to winding roads and textures of building surfaces. and again it is what it it, but look beyond and be amazed by the tiny detail on the roves and walls -

LITTLE BIT OF FUN

- i think every girl has done this (maybe even boys...?) it was always so great to pull your hair forward underwater and jump up flicking your head in a backward motion- i still remember the huge wave of water flying up into the air only to fall back down on me like rain- what fun! roll on summer i wanna do it again... do you?-

Sunday, August 15

-There is nothing I enjoy more than taking a flask of tea and a newspaper to Kirstenboch Botanical Gardens and just absorb the beauty surrounding me, take a deep breath and relax. This photo reminds me of pretty much every Sunday morning. What a pleasure -

- I think this is absolutely fantastic. I have always wanted a garden chair similar to this, the cushion you would sit on would not be out of material and foam but the natural green spongy spring of kikuyu grass-

- while researching for my technique project I found this beautiful grass bangle, it inspires me to be more aware of nature and how beautiful a single blade of grass can be -

Artist Statement

I am inspired by old books, poetry and black and white photography’s with crinkled edges.
I am Intrigued by antique store’s that smell of rich history and hold items that all have their own unique story and were once loved dearly by somebody else.
I am captivated by the shadows cast by the sun setting behind the trees and their beautiful silhouettes.
I escape to a place filled with inspirational beauty as I patiently wait and watch the patterns of colour leaking from my swirling tea bag.

So if you would like, boil the Kettle, whip up some tea, grab a cookie…
and come escape with me...
